Dear Families of Room 23,
This week’s update will be short and sweet, with
just a few announcements.
1. Halloween is quickly approaching!
a. Students should come to
school in costume and change out of their costumes after the parade. All items
should fit into backpacks so students have everything in one place and are set
for Halloween night. If your child has a large or bulky costume, please
plan on taking it home with you after the parade.
b. Costumes may not
include weapons or be bloody-and-gutsy. (Remember this is a TK-5 school
event - please match your child’s costume to the context.)
c. The Halloween parade will
begin at 8:50, followed by a special all-school dance. Please feel free to join
us and then meet outside the classroom afterwards to take pictures.
d. We will participate in a
virtual field trip through the California Academy of Sciences…All About Skulls!
Other than the parade, this will be the highlight of the day.
2. Science/Coding rotation begins this Thursday. My class will be
going to Mrs. Fisher for coding instruction every Thursday and Friday for a
total of twelve sessions.
3. We have begun using Keyboarding
Without Tears at school. Please be on the lookout for your child’s access
information. As I’ve explained to my students, it’s up to individual families
to decide how much technology children are using at home and what makes sense
for each family. Please use the access as you see fit.
Please
let me know if you have any questions.
Thank
you!
